Add Recovery Information to a User’s Account
Add or update a user’s recovery email address or phone number.
You can check which users in your account have set up 2-step verification.
There are a few ways to do it. One is to look at users’ 2-step status in the Users list. This way, you can look at multiple users’ 2-step status at once. You can also check a particular user’s status.
Go to the Admin console https://admin.google.com and click Users or Manage.
Here you can see multiple users’ 2-step verification status at once under the 2-step verification enrollment column. You may have to scroll to the right to see it.
Please note that the information you see here is not real-time information. There can be a delay of 1-3 days.
If it’s not visible, click the gear icon (Manage columns) to the right of the visible columns to enable it.
Click Add new column and select 2-step verification enforcement, then SAVE.
You can also remove columns by clicking the X to the right of them.
Alternatively, you can check an individual user’s 2-step status. There is rarely any delay this way, and the information is updated almost in real-time.
One way to get there is to click the user’s name you’re looking for in the Users list.
Or, if you have lots of users in your account, it’s faster to type their name or email address in the search bar on top and then click the result suggested below.
Click the Security section on the user’s page.
The 2-step verification setting will tell you if the user has enabled it.
You can click there to turn it off, but please note, the only way to turn it on afterward is to sign in to the user’s account and follow these steps.
