Get Backup Two-Step Verification Codes
Generate backup two-step verification codes to avoid getting locked out.
Follow these steps to generate a new app-specific password. This is only applicable if you have two-step verification.
Go to https://myaccount.google.com/ and click Security on the left.
In the Signing in to Google section, click App passwords. Note that you’ll only see this option if 2-Step Verification is On.
Click Select app and choose or enter the name of the app for which you’d like to generate a password.
Then click Select device and specify the device you’re using.
It doesn’t matter what you choose here. The only point of the name is to help you remember what the password is for.
Click GENERATE.
There you have it! Copy the password, so you don’t lose it. Once you click DONE, you won’t see that App password code again.
However, you will see a list of apps and devices for which you’ve created App passwords.
Select DONE.
You can only use one app password once, so there’s no need to remember it.
You can always generate a new app password, even for a device or app you’ve used before.
To revoke an app password, click the Trash icon to the right of it.
