Google Workspace Mobile Management Settings
Enable or disable mobile management, which allows you to apply admin settings to mobile phones and tablets.
There are a few password-related policies you can apply to mobile devices using a Google Workspace account, such as:
In Google Admin at https://admin.google.com, click Devices > Mobile & endpoints > Settings > Universal settings in the menu on the left.
Select General.
Under Organizational Units, select the OU with the users whose settings you want to update. The same updates will apply to all sub-OUs under the OU you choose.
By default, if you don’t select an OU, you will add your setting to the top OU, named after your domain. This way, you will apply changes to all users in your account.
You can search for an OU to find it faster if you have a large OU structure.
Click Password requirements.
Check the Require users to set a password box.
Set the required Password strength:
For Standard and Strong, select the minimum number of characters.
Set time until screen locks – how much time it takes for the screen to lock when a device is inactive.
Password lifespan – how many days until a user has to change their device’s password.
Block expired passwords – enter a number of passwords that can’t be reused. It’s best to set it high enough that no one can ever reuse a password.
You can also specify how many times a user can enter an incorrect password before their device gets automatically wiped by checking the Wipe device after failed attempts box.
You can override the one character, number, and symbol requirements for Android devices by checking the Apply custom strength settings for Android box and selecting the requirements.
Click SAVE after any updates. It may take up to 24 hours before the settings kick in.
