Allow or Prevent Users From Starting Google Meet Meetings
Control if users can start voice and video meetings or not.
When the Telephony setting is enabled, Google Meet meetings in Calendar events and email invitations include a phone number and PIN for guests to join meetings by phone.
In the Admin console at https://admin.google.com, click the Apps icon.
Select Google Workspace.
Click Google Meet. Make sure not to check the box to the left; just click the service.
Click the Meet video settings section.
Click Telephony.
Check the Allow dial-in access to video meetings box. Uncheck the box to disable dialing in.
Note that when the setting is disabled, users can’t manually set up a phone number and PIN for others to call to join video meetings.
However, even with this setting turned off, meeting participants can still add people by calling their phone number, as shown here.
Additionally, it is possible to add a Google Meet Global Dialing subscription to allow paid dial-in and dial-out calls in video meetings, allowing users to add someone by phone from any country. Participants can also dial in from an expanded list of supported countries.
There is no subscription fee. You are only charged a per-minute rate for phone calls.
The Meet Global Dialing subscription is not required for calls to the U.S. and Canada or for Meet dial-in numbers with no per-minute-rate cost.
After you add a Meet Global Dialing subscription, you must check the Allow paid dial-in and dial-out calls in meetings box so participants can dial in or add people by phone using the expanded set of numbers.
Click SAVE after any updates. Changes may take up to 24 hours to take effect.
