How to Allow or Prevent Google Workspace Users From Accessing Google Calendar Offline

Quick and easy-to-follow guide for Google Workspace administrators

  • You can allow or prevent offline usage of Google Calendar.
  • When allowed, users can access Calendar using Google Chrome even if they have no internet connection.

How offline Calendar works

Some details about using Calendar offline:

  • When using Calendar offline, you can view your events from the last four weeks or any time in the future. You’ll see the state of your calendars and events from when you were last online. So you’ll only see updates when you connect to the internet again.
  • When you’re offline, you can’t create or edit events, email guests or access tasks and reminders. However, you can view events and perform other actions.
  • If you clear your browser’s cache, it will clear the data you can see offline in Google Calendar. Then you need to turn on the offline setting again to use Calendar offline.
