Send a Direct Message to Someone in Google Chat
Initiate a one-to-one chat.
In Google Chat https://chat.google.com, you’ll see their name pop up on the top left, under Chat. In this example, Admin User has sent a chat request.
Click the name of the person sending you the chat request to approve or ignore it.
You’ll see any messages they sent to you. Click Ignore or Accept.
If you ignore their request, they won’t see any notification to let them know.
Click Accept to start chatting.
Another way to see pending message requests is to click the + icon on the top left, next to Chat (Start a chat).
Select Message requests, and you’ll see all your pending message requests.
Initiate a one-to-one chat.
Confirm that you want to start a chat with someone requesting to chat with you.
View a one-to-one chat or space in a full-screen chat window, or minimize it.
Pin a chat to the top of your chats list or remove it from there.
Hide a chat from your chats list.
Delete a chat from your chats list, along with your copy of the chat history.
Turn history on or off to control the saving of chat messages.
Enable or disable notifications for a specific chat.
Add a bot to a direct one-to-one chat session.
Stop someone from ever chatting with you again.
Remove a bot from a direct one-to-one chat session.
Remove someone from your blocked people list to start chatting again.
Send direct messages to a bot.
Remove a bot from your chats list.
