How to Set up Notifications for Events on a Specific Calendar in Google Calendar

It’s a good idea to configure notifications for your calendars to remind yourself when events are about to start soon. Reminders come as browser pop-ups, notifications on your phone, or by email. 

You can receive emails whenever an event on a specific calendar is created, changed, canceled, or responded to. You can also receive a summary of your daily schedule by email.

How to configure Google Calendar notification settings step-by-step with images

Step 1

Go to Google Calendar at https://calendar.google.com, hover over the calendar on the left under My calendars and click the three dots icon that appears there (Options for -calendar name-).

Select Settings and sharing.

On the left, under the calendar’s name, select Event notifications.

Turn general event notifications on or off

Going further down the page to General notifications, choose if you want to receive an email for the following things:

  • New events
  • Changed events
  • Canceled events
  • Event responses
  • Daily agenda
