In Google Calendar https://calendar.google.com, when you click to add a new event, click the calendar at the bottom, below the Add description or attachments option.

Now you can update the visibility and privacy settings.

Visibility settings:

  • Busy
  • Free 


Privacy settings:

  • Default visibility means that people you’ve shared your calendar with can see all event details.
  • Public means that anyone can see all event details.
  • Private shows events as “busy.”


When you change the privacy settings for an already existing event from “Private” to “Public” or the visibility settings from “Busy” to “Free,” the change will apply to your calendar but not to others’ calendars.
