What Are Organizational Units (OUs) in Google Workspace
Learn what Organizational Units are for.
There is no limit to how many organizational units you can create or how many levels the structure can have, as far as the official documentation goes.
At Google Admin https://admin.google.com, click the Organizational units icon.
Click the ( + ) icon: Create new organizational unit.
Type the name and description, then choose where to place it and click CREATE.
To move users to the new organizational unit next, click here.
You can see how the list of OUs looks in the image above.
If you have a lot of OUs, you can type in the Search for organizational units bar to find them.
Also, when you hover over an OU, some options appear on the right. Let’s check them out in the next steps.
First, there’s the Create new organizational unit + icon.
It lets you create a new OU and place it under the OU you were hovering over. Think of it as a folder/group within another folder/group.
In the middle, you have Move organizational unit.
It lets you move the OU you were hovering over to another place in the OU structure.
Clicking the three dots icon while hovering over the OU lets you Edit or Delete it.
