How To Unlock And Transfer A Domain Bought While Signing Up For Google Workspace

Quick and easy-to-follow guide for Google Workspace administrators

Disconnecting a Google domain registration from Google Workspace

If you chose to purchase a domain through Google Workspace when signing up, but now you want to disconnect the link between Google Workspace and the hosting provider, you can unlock it and separate the two accounts.

Unlocking the domain also allows you to transfer it to another provider if you wish.

After disconnecting the domain

You won’t be able to pay for the domain through Google Workspace anymore. You’ll have to start making payments for the domain directly to your hosting provider, using the payment settings on their site.
