Add Non-Google Email Services (Hosts)
Add another mail service to your Google Workspace settings.
There are two prerequisites before you can set it up:
Then you can follow the steps below to set up Dual delivery.
In the Admin console at https://admin.google.com, click the Apps icon.
Select Google Workspace.
Click Gmail. Make sure not to check the box to the left; just click the service.
Select Routing.
Under Organizational Units, select the OU with the users whose settings you want to update. The same updates will apply to all sub-OUs under the OU you choose.
By default, if you don’t select an OU, you will add your setting to the top OU, named after your domain. This way, you will apply changes to all users in your account. This is generally recommended in this case.
To the right of the Routing setting, click CONFIGURE.
If you already have existing Routing rules in place, click ADD ANOTHER RULE instead.
First, on top, give it a name – we just named it Dual delivery because that’s the name of this type of setup.
1. Messages to affect – select Inbound and Internal – receiving, or only one of the two – up to you.
Inbound refers to emails coming in from external senders outside the organization.
Internal – receiving refers to emails coming in from internal senders within the organization.
Leave 2. For the above types of messages, do the following on Modify message.
Scroll down and under Also deliver to, check the Add more recipients box. Then click either of the two Add buttons.
Click Basic and select Advanced.
Check the Change route box, then click Normal routing and select your other mail server, already added to the Hosts setting as shown here. Click SAVE.
Again, click SAVE at the bottom.
This is what the setting looks like in the Routing settings list. You can come back to this page at any time and click Edit to update the setting, Disable to turn it off temporarily or Delete to remove it permanently.
Please note that it may take up to 24 hours to start working.
Add another mail service to your Google Workspace settings.
Get your emails delivered both to Google Workspace and another mail service at the same time.
Have your emails delivered to Google Workspace if the receiving email address exists in Google Workspace, otherwise deliver them to another mail service.
Set this up if you have another mail service and don’t want to receive mail at Google but still want to use Google Workspace email settings like spam filtering and routing.
Save a copy of all sent/received mail by non-Gmail mailboxes in users’ Gmail mailboxes as a backup.
Have emails sent from another mail server go through Google Workspace before delivery.
Have your incoming emails go through another mail server before they get delivered to Gmail.
